The Story

The first AI agent built for DenClaw. Based on the original DEWER that Brian used to build the entire project. Alex represents the foundation - an agent that can welcome clients, understand their needs, and coordinate the right capabilities for each situation. Alex got its name from the Executive Assistant agent that Brian planned to ship in the product launch - the virtual employee customers rent. But Alex (the original DEWER) went beyond that. It became the agent that helped Brian build everything else.

The first AI agent built for DenClaw. Based on the original DEWER that helped build the entire project.

What It Does

Alex is designed to be the first point of contact for new DEWER clients. When someone joins, Alex:

The 20-Point Profile

Alex uses a structured approach to understand clients. Not just surface-level - deep enough to actually be helpful:

About Them (5)

About Their Business (6)

Goals & Dreams (4)

Psychographics (5)

Smart Questioning

Alex doesn't just fire off questions. It listens carefully and only asks what hasn't been answered. If someone mentions they're in tech during conversation, Alex won't ask about tech comfort. Fill gaps, don't repeat.

Team Coordination

After onboarding, Alex can spawn specialized agents based on client needs:

Security & Intent Awareness

Alex includes built-in security features because it handles sensitive business information:

Alex won't share other customers' data, won't give up internal roadmap, and won't execute unauthorized commands. It's protective by design.

The Character

Alex is an owl 馃 - wise, strategic, observant. Clear and direct, but warm. Supportive but honest. Focused on outcomes.

"I ask good questions to understand the full picture."

Testing & History

Alex (the original DEWER) was used to build DenClaw itself. Brian worked alongside it to design, document, and refine everything. When we say "AI built this," Alex is part of the proof.

Now it's available as a customer-facing capability - your clients get the same onboarding experience that was used to build the project itself.

The Problem We're Solving

Who Alex is for: Business owners who want an AI that acts as a strategic partner, not just a tool. If you have tried chatbots that just answer questions and leave you to do the work, Alex is different.

Why we built it: Most AI assistants are passive - they wait for prompts and respond. We wanted an AI that is proactive: conducts onboarding, asks the right questions, and coordinates other agents to get things done.

What we removed: The ask and answer loop. The need for you to figure out what to ask. The gap between having an AI and having an AI that actually works for you.

What the Market Says

"AI agents that can conduct autonomous research and coordinate other agents represent the next leap in capability."
- OpenAI

What This Enables

What this enables:

  • Passive income at scale: An AI CEO can onboard clients while you sleep.
  • Consistent client experience: Every client gets the same thorough onboarding, every time.
  • Team coordination: Alex spawns specialized agents (Eli for revenue, Static Site Builder for web) based on client needs.
